A few weeks back Stanford University released its training series on developing applications with the recent iPhone SDK. Normally a 10-week course with limited enrollment, everyone now has the opportunity to learn about iPhone SDK programming by subscribing though iTunes. Once subscribed you will get a new video every Wednesday and Friday.
Currently there are 9 podcasts available for download exploring topics like “Dealing with Data: User Defaults, SQlite and Webservies” and “Interface Builder, Controls and Target-Action.” The modules go over everything ranging from an introduced Objective-C and Foundation framework APIs to Xcode usage and Debugging. The main thing this course provides is a start-to-finish development process taking you from creating your very own app to publishing it in the App Store.
The course finished May 1, 2009 and I am excited to see what the students will release to the App Store this Summer. I hope the Stanford will continue this course in the future as it really provides a great framework for building your very own App.
