Macintosh Laptops: iBook G3 466 MHz Blue/White

Released during the summer of 1999 the Apple iBook G3 "Clamshell" was not only innovative in design but brought portable computing to a whole new level. iBook G3 had a PowerPC G3 CPU, USB, Ethernet, modem ports and an optical drive were standard. With the lid closed, the hinge is kept it firmly shut, so there is no need for a latch on the screen, similar to the current MacBook line. The hinge included an integrated carrying handle. This version of the iBook was discontinued in May, 2001.
