Apple Portable Media: iPhone 3G Second Generation
Released on July 11, 2008, the iPhone 3G represents the next evolutionary step in Apple Portable Media. Supporting faster 3G data speeds and assisted GPS. This second-generation phones have UMTS/HSDPA (850, 1900, 2100 MHz), GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz), Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR. With it signature touch screen and minimal interface that renders a virtual keyboard or custom interface options when necessary. Like the first-generation this model includes a full web browser, portable media functions, 2 megapixel camera. During its first release it shipped with either a 8 GB or 16 GB internal memory capacity. The newer Generation released in June, 2009 only has the * GB capacity.
